First of all, we would like to explain the meaning of the company´s name. "Gondwana" comes from geology, from the times where there was only one big continental land mass: Pangea.

Pangea was the name given to the continent that, according to continental´s DERIVA´s theory, existed until 200 million years ago, in the Mesozoic era. With the first separation of Pangaea, two continents were formed. The southern supercontinent - Gondwana - which included the main areas of solid ground nowadays formed by the Southern Hemisphere; and the rest of the continent, formed by North America, Asia and the Arctic, which is named Laurasia.

And what does this whole story is related to Gondwana Brasil Ecoturismo?

The origin of Atlantic Rain Forest and the Brazilian coastal area´s mountain range (Serra do Mar) are associated to those geological processes. And it was on the domains of the Atlantic Rain Forest which is considered to be the "mother" forest of the Brazilian nation that Brazilian history has began, a region where today live over 120 million inhabitants.

For our happiness, it was in a piece of the country, more precisely in the Parana Coastal area and its Mountain Range, that the history of Gondwana Brasil Ecoturismo began. In the region we had our first professional inspirations. From the proximity with the forest and the community lifestyles, every detail in the region has awakened in us, besides the love and care for the biodiversity of our country, the wish to share our experiences. Since then, this wish l has become the essence of our work.
