About the itinerary

Some of Brazil’s richest stories are inseparable from their surroundings. Paraty grew between the Atlantic Forest and the sea; in the Amazon, rivers still shape everyday life, movement and community. This journey spends enough time in each place for those connections to become visible, rather than simply passing through.

Trip Highlights

  • Two UNESCO-recognised landscapes in one journey: Rio’s Carioca Landscapes and Paraty & Ilha Grande are both UNESCO World Heritage properties, giving the itinerary a strong combination of internationally recognised cultural and natural heritage before reaching the Amazon.

  • Paraty adds more than a historic stop: The region has around 60 beaches, many accessible only by trail or boat, while the surrounding Atlantic Forest includes protected areas such as Serra da Bocaina and Cairuçu. It gives clients several ways to extend or personalise the programme without adding another destination.

  • Five days in the Amazon, not a quick extension: The Amazon section is built around a five-day, four-night stay at Caboclos House. Its flexible programme responds to river levels and seasonality, with access to Acajatuba, riverside communities and activities that change between flooded forest and river beaches during the year. That makes the Amazon a substantial part of the itinerary rather than a short add-on from Manaus.
