About the itinerary

This journey follows Brazil as its rhythm changes along the coast. Rio brings the energy and scale; further north, Bahia feels warmer, more rooted and increasingly tied to the sea. By the final days, cacao country meets the Atlantic Forest and the journey settles into the quieter shores of Maraú.

Brazil’s African heritage, at its strongest: Salvador, Brazil’s first capital, places Afro-Brazilian heritage at the centre of the journey, through its music, religion, food and living traditions, with the UNESCO-listed Pelourinho as its historic core.

A stronger gateway to the Cocoa Coast: Ilhéus’ Jorge Amado Airport completed a R$60+ million expansion in 2024, doubling capacity to more than 1.2 million passengers a year and improving access to southern Bahia.

200 km of Brazil’s Cocoa Coast: The Costa do Cacau extends along roughly 200 km of Bahia’s coastline, combining beaches with significant remnants of Atlantic Forest. Cacao cultivation here traditionally uses native vegetation as shade, helping preserve forest within the productive landscape.
